Performance vs attendance

Not my original thinking but a nice thought provoking prompt From Simon Sinek! How many times do we see people or indeed experience this for ourselves where we are simply present but not giving our full selves to the task or business! In my opinion people are paid for performance and not simply attendance and allowing people to work in a way that suits them best will elicit greater outputs and employee engagement! Thoughts?
